Hello everyone! I hope all of you have been having a great week so far!

As seen on our Instagram, this is a blog post about quinoa!

The image above has three different types of quinoa, filled up to exactly 1/2 pint.

There's white quinoa, red quinoa, and a mix of white and black quinoa. You can buy these at a local market or supermarket.

Fun facts about Quinoa:

1. Quinoa isn't a grain! It's a seed harvested from a plant called goosefoot.

2. For this reason, quinoa is gluten-free!

3. Quinoa is a complete protein, meaning that it has all 9 amino acids!

Quinoa is cooked very similarly to rice. Here's how I make it!

Steps:

1. Make sure to rinse your quinoa before cooking it! If you don't, it could taste very bitter (due to its natural coating).

2. Measure 1 cup of quinoa.

3. You will need either 2 cups of water or 2 cups of chicken broth, depending on your personal preference. (note: I usually use chicken broth because it adds more flavor, but in the end it's really up to you!)

4. Place the water and quinoa in a covered pan for about 20 minutes

Once you finish, enjoy! You can add basically anything to your quinoa, from chicken to vegetables and salad!

The finished quinoa I made!
